The Necessity of a Valid Passport to Heaven
A passport is a valid document that qualifies a person to travel from one country to another. But it's not enough to have a passport to travel; your passport must be valid with a visa before you can enter a foreign country.
Similarly, our lives on earth can be likened to a journey to another life in heaven. And everyone (including children) must have what it takes to get to heaven.
This implies that no one can get to heaven without a genuine salvation experience.
As parents, understand that your primary assignment in this world is to ensure that your child has a valid passport (genuine salvation) that will get him/her to heaven. It's your responsibility to discern whether your child is genuinely saved or not. The fact your child is raised in a Christian home, goes to church with you, prays, memorizes bible verses, are not enough to assume the he/she is genuinely saved.
Look beyond your child quiet, moral and religious disposition. Interact with your child; watch him/her among their friends and siblings. Pray that God should open your eyes to see where he/she needs help, and then pray for his/her salvation until you are sure that your child is actually saved.
Also, don't ever think your child's salvation will come accidentally, you need to partner with Holy Ghost and make a conscious, deliberate effort to make it happen.
Use all available resources at your disposal to ensure that your child is genuinely saved.
